 Evaluating your blogging

Use "The Ripple Effect Sheet" to self-evaluate your post about an educator who has influenced your views, and your comments to 2 posts by partners of yours:

Instructions:

  • About your posting to the blog:

Reflect about how writing that entry contributed to your growth as an educator or learner. Think about the perceived ripple effect that this one specific entry - one specific topic and your subsequent engagement with that topic - had on you as an individual. How did it expand your understanding of the topic? What exactly did you learn? Was there a reaction from the blogosphere?

Use the box on the right to jot down your strengths and weaknesses

  • About the entries by your partners which you commented on:
Describe the ripple effect that those entries had on you as an individual. “What did you learn?”  “How did you respond?” “How big of a ripple did this cause in your own understanding of the topic?” “Was there a ripple effect in our community?” “Did people respond? If so, how?”"Did this writer help you grow as an educator or learner? Why? How?”

Please submit this sheet in print to your teacher for final evaluation of this task.
This handout is discussed by  Konrad Glogowski in his blog post Towards Reflective BlogTalk (Feb 04, 2008)
